Beginning Sewing
This class is for the very beginner sewer. Students will make pajama bottoms in a relaxed class setting while learning how to:
- run a sewing machine
- read a pattern
- beginning fitting
- cutting and marking fabric
- sewing and finishing seams
- making an elastic casing
- hemming

Batik
In this 2 session class, students will learn how to use wax resist
techniques and Procion Dyes to create batik fabric. The class will
include lessons on
- applying wax with paintbrushes
- using tjanting tools
- overdyeing techniques
- direct dyeing techniques
- using tjaps

Hand Applique

Students will learn needle turn applique in this relaxed setting class.
Students will complete a hand applique block. Lessons include:
- Tracing the applique design on fabric
- Making applique stencils
- Choosing correct needle, thead and other tools

Cotton Fabric Dyeing
Students will learn how to dye cotton fabric in this fun and colorful class. Lessons include:
- Equipment and products needed for dyeing
- Full water immersion technique
- Low water immersion technique
- Color graduations
- Multiple color dyeing techniques

Students will learn beginning quilting skills while making a Rails and Fencepost Quilt. Lessons include:
- Choosing Fabric for a Quilt
- Cutting out Quilts
- Sewing quilts accurately
